Before I tell you what Pinhole Press is, I am going to tell you how I found out about them. This spring one of my classes for my grad degree was Strategic Management for Sustainability required us to do company case studies. I choose Mohawk Papers, located about 30 minutes south of my house in Cohoes, NY. After spending several weeks researching their sustainability efforts, I developed a great respect for their company and their environmental efforts. They were the first paper company to hire an Environmental Coordinator, and the same gentleman is now the VP of environmental affairs. Mohawk is always pushing the limits and boundaries of sustainability, looking for better products, methods and equipment. In greening my business, it has been a struggle to find companies that walk the walk, have invested in the right kind of initiatives, and truly understand what sustainability means. {The Client Bailout Plan}

Did you receive a big check in the mail to help out during these tough times? In case you didn’t, because I know my ship has not come in via a stimulus plan, JRP has it’s own Bailout Plan. Just for you.

During the month of May, you can book a Mini Session to update your walls and photo albums. Mini Sessions are usually only offered at Christmas time, but with today’s economy you may be making tough choices about how and where to spend your money. Professional photography is often one of the first line items in a budget to go, however, it is one of the most important and vital to the history of your family.

There are few things you will have in 30 to 40 years from now. You will not have the same car, you may not be living in the same house, you won’t have the same electronics, your clothes will be different, and your furniture may have changed a time or two. The one thing that won’t change is the way your baby looked at five months or the way your three year old played tee-ball for the first time. Those things won’t change or fade, as long as you document them. There is no money to replace a lost or never taken photograph.

So, use the Client Bailout Plan to book a 45 minute session this May. You can schedule your session to take place anytime in the next three months. You will receive 5 digital images via digital download for your personal use or a selection of prints. Sessions will be held on the location of your choice, but space is limited for certain locations. Mini Sessions start at $525.

{The New Albums Are In}

The new albums are in! I’ve made a change in my packages and pricing. After extensive contemplation about what I want to give to the world, I have decided to include an album in every package I sell. I also now only sell packages with add on a la carte pricing.

I have come to the conclusion that I am not a one photograph photographer. I don’t want you to walk away with just one or two images for your wall or desk. I want you to buy them all. I know that many of my clients have struggled to purchase all that they want, but can’t just 25 5×7 prints. Now, with every package receiving an album you can have, to hold for ever and ever, your favorite images. You may not want to hang every image I capture on your wall, but you may not be able to stomach walking away from all of the precious expressions of your child. My style lends itself to telling a story of your family through multiple images and these images should displayed together.

Your albums will be around for a very, very long time. Most likely they will be around longer than than the images on your wall. Images in an album will be protected from dust and sunlight, both of which will damage your images. If you are a military family and are worried about transporting your images from duty station to duty station, the album is the perfect alternative to “mobile” images. You can lay your album in your carry on luggage, with no worries it will get lost or damaged.
