Did you receive a big check in the mail to help out during these tough times? In case you didn’t, because I know my ship has not come in via a stimulus plan, JRP has it’s own Bailout Plan. Just for you.

During the month of May, you can book a Mini Session to update your walls and photo albums. Mini Sessions are usually only offered at Christmas time, but with today’s economy you may be making tough choices about how and where to spend your money. Professional photography is often one of the first line items in a budget to go, however, it is one of the most important and vital to the history of your family.

There are few things you will have in 30 to 40 years from now. You will not have the same car, you may not be living in the same house, you won’t have the same electronics, your clothes will be different, and your furniture may have changed a time or two. The one thing that won’t change is the way your baby looked at five months or the way your three year old played tee-ball for the first time. Those things won’t change or fade, as long as you document them. There is no money to replace a lost or never taken photograph.

So, use the Client Bailout Plan to book a 45 minute session this May. You can schedule your session to take place anytime in the next three months. You will receive 5 digital images via digital download for your personal use or a selection of prints. Sessions will be held on the location of your choice, but space is limited for certain locations. Mini Sessions start at $525.

Email info@jessicariehl.com NOW. The first 5 people to book a session will receive 2 additional digital images.

Preservation

Reduction

Local Production

Cruelty-Free

I received an email the other day from a friend who asked me what I have been up to and I realized I’ve had a ton going on and haven’t told you about it.

I have recently been volunteering for a non-profit organization called Greener Photography. You may have noticed on my website that I am a member, well, now I am much, much more than just a member. I have been intimately involved with the founders to create a certification process for our photographers. The founders, Thea and Dawn, had a vision to create a process where by you, as a consumer, would be able to go the website and find a photographer. Not just any photographer, but one that has passed through the wickets of creating and running a green business. I have spent much of the last month and a half reading, researching, writing and rewriting. I am certain we have brought together an amazing process that will give you, the consumer, confidence that our photographers are doing as much as they can to reduce their impact on the environment. You will now be able to invest your money with photographers who are going the extra mile.

In celebration of Earth Day, I will be having my first art show of my personal images at the Chesapeake coffe shop, Bean There Cafe. I am proud to bring you in large format the very best of my landscape and nature photography. It is going to be amazing, I promise! A sneak peak of images is below. Stay tuned for more information.

A 100% recycled greeting card collection you say? Yes, it’s in the works and will be sold at Green Alternatives in Norfolk and Bean There Cafe in Chesapeake. I will also be selling them online, so no fret if you don’t live in the area. It will be around just in time for Earth Day (and Mother’s Day).

If you haven’t figured it out yet, I am a greenie at heart. It’s been dormant for a long time and I’ve finally found out where I can make positive change. If you had asked me in high school what I was going to do for a living, it would have been some form of environmental research. I’ve always wanted much more from my business and wanted it to have more value than just a normal photography studio. It has to have a positive impact on this world in as many ways as possible. I’ve completely reworked my business to eco-friendly and I still have much to implement. Greening my business is also a responsible action…we have to start making fundamental changes in how we purchase and provide our products. However, greening your business is a journey and not a destination. The photographic industry also has some work to do, but there are wonderful things happening.

Cheers,
